Discard the old pulley. 4 Place the bolt through the new pulley and then thread the bolt into the idler arm. 5 Use a socket and ratchet to tighten the center bolt. You will not use the vice grips when putting the pulley on, as the pulley is new and will freely spin on the bolt.
